War Memorial Gardens

The Council is responsible for the parish’s war memorial on Everton Road, Hordle.  The sandstone memorial, dedicated to the service people from our parish who sacrificed their lives in conflicts around the world, has just been professionally cleaned.

The memorial is set in peaceful gardens, where there are benches to sit and reflect in peaceful surroundings.  There is also a Tommy Silhouette which placed in the gardens for Armistice Day.

Remembrance Services

Every year there is a Service of Remembrance at the War Memorial, which is organised by the Parish Council and Hordle All Saints Church.  Everyone is welcome to attend.  In 2024 the service will take place at 10.45am on Sunday 10th November.  Everton Road will be closed from 10am to 11.30am to allow the procession from Hordle All Saints Church to safely travel to the Memorial and for everyone to gather safely at this important service.

Remembrance Services will also take place at Tiptoe Green (all humans and animals welcome) at 3pm on Sunday 10th November and at St Marys Church in Everton at 10.30am on Monday 11th November.
