Hordle Parish Council co-ordinates the local Speedwatch Group, which regularly goes out onto the parish’s roads to monitor the speed of motorists.  They are often joined by the police who give invaluable support to this project and who follow up with motorists who are significantly above the speed limit.

The group welcomes new volunteers – just contact the Parish Office or download and complete the application.

In addition, the Parish Council has a VASLR (Vehicle Activated Speed Logging Radar) device, which moves to various agreed locations within the parish, recording vehicle speeds.  The data gathered helps to inform the locations of the Speedwatch group.

Contact the Parish Office for more details on volunteering opportunities throughout the parish.
