Wilding
Hordle Parish Council is encouraging wildlife and in particular pollinators to thrive by not mowing some parts of the open spaces as often during the summer months. This includes Dudley Avenue and Acacia Triangle in Hordle, as well the the edges of the open spaces at Shepherds Way and Farmer Walk in Everton.
The Community Orchard has wildflower beds and the Parish Council has also created a wildlife bed by the WI hall bus stop in Hordle and another on the verge near to Golden Hill Woods. More are planned for Everton Recreation Ground.
Tree Planting
British native fruit trees have been planted to the north of Dudley Avenue Recreation Ground, useful for both humans and wildlife.
New British native trees have been planted at the Lavender Road/ Hare Lane triangle.

The Parish Council is keen to hear new environmental ideas from residents – just contact the Parish Office.
Litterpicks
Every year the Parish Council organises parish-wide litterpicks as part of the Great British Spring Clean initiative.
Just turn up at your nearest venue between 10am and 12 noon to help make your community a more lovely place to be. All kit is provided (Bring your own gloves if you prefer) and afterwards there are free refreshments for everyone who takes part.
Litterpick sticks are also available to borrow from the Parish Office everyday.
The Parish Council also supports the work of the Litterpickers of the New Forest Group who organises the PUPS (Pick UP Poo Squad) scheme at Hordle & Everton Recs.
Recycling
